Chrysalis Transforming Lives
Huntsville's Transitional Home for Women and Children

Chrysalis Muskoka

Mission:
The mission of Chrysalis, through both the crisis shelter and transitional housing facility, is to offer nurturing and empowering programs that enable women to achieve their goals in a supportive environment.

Chrysalis is operated by the Muskoka Women's Advocacy Group (MWAG), a non-profit organization established in 1984. The purpose of MWAG is to advocate for better life opportunities and increased options for women in Muskoka, and to encourage recognition of the value of women in society.

Goals:
The goals of MWAG are to identify the special needs of women in Muskoka that are not currently being met, to develop strategies to address these needs, to implement these strategies and to educate the community about identified needs and appropriate action.

MWAG manages two crisis shelters for abused and vulnerable women and their children: Chrysalis, located in Huntsville, is a 10-bed shelter and 10-unit supportive transitional housing facility; Muskoka Interval House, in Bracebridge, is a 15-bed shelter and administrative office for MWAG.

If you need assistance or information pertaining to abuse issues, please call either shelter, using the 24-hour crisis lines:
